What is Damascus

Damascus is a life-changing men’s ministry, a turning point, and escape from poor past life situations, decisions, and addictions. In May of 2012, Billy and Sammy Rogers generously donated nine acres of land within the Dyersburg city limits to the Damascus project which will be used for future projects.

Damascus Donated Land

Damascus currently has a footprint through several men’s classes in and around the downtown area of Dyersburg and is entering the final stages of construction of a new recovery center that is expected to open in 2022.

What We Do At Damascus

A day at the Damascus Recovery Center will include men working at various stages in the program. Some may reading the Bible along with a study guide, some may be in classes, others may be doing chores and finally some will be at work. At some point in the day, they will join together for meals and time of prayer. The Damascus Recovery Center will offer an environment for lives to be transformed.

Recovery Center

Damascus is nearing the final stages of completing the new Damascus Recovery Center. This building project has reached this point by the support of faithful volunteers, donations of time, money, and materials, and by the grace of God. The facility will be a 24 hour professionally staffed residential recovery program offering sanctuary to men seeking a new road in life. Currently, there is not a program in North West Tennessee as comprehensive as Damascus will be offering, though the need is great. The Damascus Recovery Center will be a great addition to the Dyersburg area for reducing "recidivism" (in and out of jail all throughout life) by showing and teaching men to follow Christ as a lifestyle.

Will you help?

Sometimes the Lord uses our offerings, sometimes He uses our time or our skillsets. Do you have a skillset in any area of construction and a desire to make a difference? Are you able to make a one-time donation or a monthly donation? Could you perhaps be able to fund an entire upcoming building project or provide materials? Do you know what a close walk with the Lord is like and be interested in sharing your heart and knowledge as a Damascus mentor? Damascus is grateful for each and every volunteer and contribution!
